Parenting can be deeply fulfilling and satisfying. However, for many parents, parenting can also be stressful and overwhelming. Today, more than ever before, parenting struggles can lead to feelings of shame and isolation because images of the joys of parenting abound on social media, while the struggles are underrepresented. The pressure on parents today is compounded by endless access to information about how to be a “good” parent.
If you feel like your parenting experience is filled with more pain than joy, more stress than fun, and more helplessness than empowerment, I can support you to find a more balanced and sustainable approach to parenting. With parenting support, you can expect to experience increased self-awareness and self-compassion. You will develop more insight into your own emotional experience and how this impacts your child. You will also gain a greater understanding of your child, their unique needs, and how to meet them where they are at right now.
I can help you navigate common struggles with establishing routines, communication, discipline, behaviour challenges, parent-child attachment, emotional dysregulation, and much more.
I also work directly with children and youth, with regular parent involvement, to support them to cope with challenges, including anxiety, social and friendship concerns, emotional regulation, and adverse childhood experiences.
